MCNAMERA MUSTANGS HAVE TAKEN BASQUE COUNTRY BY STORM

WE HAVE ALL ARRIVED SAFE AND SOUND!! After taking two planes and a train we arrived in Pamplona around 5:00 pm yesterday,US time, almost twenty four hours from the time that we left. We were greeted at the train station by faculty, parents, students and the principal of the school. It felt like we were rock stars. Everyone is so nice and hospitable.Today, Tuesday, April 7, we have spent the day in the host school. The students and teachers here have prepared many educational opportunites for us, including history, tradition and culture. We were treated to a power point presentation by students on the history of the local culture, known as Basque. Students taught us some phrases in the Basque language which is different from Spanish. The favorite part of the day was learning An´n-anin, a dance done at fiestas or get togethers.
It is a dance that everyone can particpate in and we all did. It was alot of fun. In return for teaching all of us one of their dances, Heather, Kortney, Jackie and Candance taught the students here the Super Shuffle. It was a blast! The students here really loved it. Hopefully, we will have pictures to post soon.
